This recent research by London Councils has some alarming statistics related to the rise in homelessness and demand for temporary accommodation. The LDN Collective and collaborating partners have created a new platform called Homes for Homeless, led by our members Better Delivery who specialise in optimised construction. This new not-for-profit organisation offers local authorities the ability to access private sector experience and capability, disintermediate supply chain inefficiencies, aggregate pipelines and deliver a standardised product at scale. We are in the process of launching the platform and are in discussions with the GLA and a number of local authorities.

Homes for Homeless offers a sliding scale of engagement for registered providers and local authorities from ‘Design and Build’ to ‘Design, Build, Finance and Operate’. It is an innovative platform made up of a collective of construction and real estate experts who believe there is a better way to deliver the change vitally needed and address homelessness on London’s streets. The consortium includes The Hill Group (Solohaus), Akerlof and Gbolade Design Studios, all of whom hold social value as core to their businesses.

Ultimately, we see the opportunity to provide a sustainable journey for homeless individuals and families from the streets to secure housing, with wrap around services and reintegration into the wider community. Here is a summary overview which hopefully provides a helpful summary. If you are a local authority or registered provider with suitable land and a need to provide accommodation for homeless people within your borough, please get in touch. We would love to here from you
